A.P.A. – Advance Provisioning Allowance
The A.P.A. is an advance payment intended to cover expenses incurred during the charter on behalf of the Charterer, including food and beverages, fuel for the yacht, tender and water toys, berthing and harbour fees, applicable taxes and charges, shore-side electricity and water, transfers, excursions and other charter-related expenses.
The A.P.A. is paid in advance together with the final charter payment and is entrusted to the Captain, who manages the expenses during the cruise and keeps the relevant accounts.
At the end of the charter, the Captain will provide a statement of the expenses incurred, together with the available supporting receipts. The A.P.A. is an estimate of expenses and not a fixed cost: any unused balance will be refunded to the Charterer, while any expenses exceeding the amount advanced must be settled by the Charterer.
The A.P.A. percentage varies depending on the yacht and the charter conditions and will be specified in the relevant quotation. As a general indication, it is usually calculated at between 20% and 35% of the charter fee.
Charter rates, terms and any additional costs may vary depending on the yacht, charter period and cruising area and are subject to confirmation at the time of enquiry.
