Martinique navigation area

The Caribbean of France, the overseas country that smells of rum and spices, where legends of pirates echo and the music is sweet. Mondovela has been operating for years with cabin charters or cabin cruises on the island, and invites you to an exciting cruise to discover this heavenly corner. A queen of the Lesser Antilles, discovered by Christopher Columbus during his fourth voyage to America in 1502, described by the navigator as "the most beautiful place in the world". And today she is loved by sailors for her hospitality, services, the charm of so many places and the strategic position for sailing between the islands. The capital Fort-de-France has steep hills, narrow streets and all the liveliness of a centre frequented by an international public. People often gather in the gardens of La Savane, surrounded by bars and shops, or swarm towards the Malecon, by the sea.

The island is quite rugged with a mountainous and forested area to the north, flat in the centre and low hills to the south. Inland there are the Pitons, sleeping volcanoes sprinkled with vegetation; among the main Piton Conil, Mount Pelée, Morne Jacob and Pitons du Carbet. Along the coast are numerous bays and coves, the "loops" of Martinique, made up of beaches of different colours, from the dazzling white of the famous Les Salines, to the grey and black of Anse Ceron and Anse des Gallets, a surprising legacy of ancient volcanic eruptions. Navigation offers a wide variety of landscapes, with many parts dominated by unspoilt and lush nature, and the possibility of bottoming out near deserted islets: only sea birds and transparent waters.

Fantastic encounters with multicoloured fish on the bottom of the coral reef on the Atlantic side and pure emotion among the giant turtles of Anse Noir. This would be enough to justify a cruise a la Martinique, but how not to exalt the intriguing mix of French and Caribbean culture and history, a unicum that delights the ears and palate, and often the eyes too, with those Creole features all to be admired. In addition, the advantages of arriving in a land belonging to Europe, with a very modern marina such as Le Marin and an excellent gateway to the wonders of Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
