PONTINE ISLANDS - Feast of 2 June 2024: 4-day catamaran cruise
A relaxing mini holiday full of surprises, which for the celebration of June 2nd will take us to discover the Pontine Islands.
It is difficult to describe in words the beauty of Palmarola, the variety of Ponza, the ancient atmospheres of Ventotene or the mystery of Santo Stefano. Better to fill the galley with local wines and delicacies and prepare to set sail towards these paradises.
Off the coast of the Gulf of Gaeta, the six large islands of the Pontine archipelago are framed by steep coasts and splendid bays, reachable only from the sea, and by the pastel color of the villages suspended in time.
The island of Ponza alone offers dozens of beaches and coves. Among the most famous: the sandy and very clear beach of Chiaia di Luna, that of Lucia Rosa, loved for its sunsets, and the bay of Cala Fèola with its natural pools.
In winter it is sparsely inhabited, but in summer Ponza - considered one of the most fashionable places in the Tyrrhenian Sea - attracts a multitude of tourists, especially VIPs and the international jet set, who love to frequent the lively clubs or go dancing directly on the beaches.
Palmarola, also called the Forcina due to its shape, the island is a nature reserve and is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the world, thanks to its uncontaminated appearance and the variety of coasts. Inhabited only in the summer period, it has a restaurant, a few cottages and cave houses, typical dwellings carved into the rock.

A paradise just one hundred kilometers from the center of Rome, the Pontine Islands are a microcosm where maritime traditions, history and nature integrate perfectly. This archipelago off the coast of the Gulf of Gaeta is the ideal destination for an easy and relaxing cruise among the beauties, scents and most intense flavors of our sea. The steep coasts, the splendid bays, the seabed and the unique views of the Pontine Islands also enchanted Folco Quilici, who considered them among the most fascinating islands in the Mediterranean and, perhaps, in the world.
