Our charter boats

"...He pressed his fist against his temples, as if to prevent reason from abandoning him, then he ran madly across the island without following a path - there are no paths on the island of Montecristo - but not even a fixed direction...". (A. Dumas - The Count of Montecristo)

A cruise that offers the best for a sailing holiday in the Italian seas. The Tuscan archipelago means wonderful nature, history, literature, idyllic beaches, fun, relaxation, always different and magnificent landscapes, inimitable flavours. Sailing in these waters means being in the heart of the Mediterranean sanctuary of Pelagus cetaceans, with a very high probability of exciting encounters with whales and dolphins. A charter or an individual boarding (cabin cruise) on excellent boats or comfortable catamarans selected by Mondovela, gives the possibility to reach and explore the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, for a weekend or more days, sailing from Piombino . There are seven major islands: Gorgona, Capraia, Elba, Pianosa, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri Gorgona. The latter is the site of a penal colony and can only be accessed by accompanied day trips; the same goes for Pianosa, which can be visited in groups on request after the prison closure, while Montecristo has a special permit from the Forestry Department. The other islands are equally fantastic, each with its own characteristics and much to see, with sailing on routes already beaten by the Romans to follow in cabin crew and charter on board Mondovela boats or catamarans. Elba is the largest, and names like Capoliveri, Porto Azzurro, Biodola, Fetovaia, Marina di Campo Procchio mean crystal clear sea and charming seaside villages. Going up the wooded valleys it is worth to reach Monte Capanne or the legendary throne of Napoleon, who was exiled here. After many baths, snorkelling and trekking, you can try without reservation the famous Elba cuisine and its wines. Capraia, imposing, rugged, almost a mirage before Corsica, is a wild land with high and rocky coasts. The island is a real natural laboratory: of more than 650 plant species registered, almost 3% are endemic. Prow to the south and here is Il Giglio. In spite of its fame, it is still a genuine and uncontaminated reality, made of emerald green sea with various and fishy seabeds, a natural environment all to be discovered, with magnificent beaches and a hinterland of scrubland and granites, intact and rich in avifauna. The enchantment of Giglio Castello with its medieval town is a maze of steep alleys enclosed by walls, culminating in the imposing Rocca Pisana. The right place for a dinner in the moonlight, surrounded by the scent of helichrysum. And just a crescent moon set in the blue recalls the small secluded Giannutri, the southernmost of the islands. The still present remains of Roman villas testify how much the climate and the natural context were appreciated since ancient times. It has splendid depths of great biodiversity where dolphins and whales frequently swim. Almost uninhabited in winter, it comes alive in the summer, but only for the lucky few. The Tuscan Archipelago, a mosaic made of very different pieces to compose an image with a unique and unmistakable physiognomy that is impressed forever in the memory of those who sail it. Because at the end of all its islands, to a different extent, the same magnetic effect as Montecristo is worth it: they continue to exert fascination and mystery on anyone who approaches them.
