Sardinia discovery - Maddalena archipelago| Sailingboat holiday

In the middle of western Mediterranean, there where Corse and Sardinia pursue eachother in one of the most charming strech of sea, Maddalena archipelago emerges in all its beauty.

Located more precisely off the north east coast of Sardinia, is made up of seven major islands (Maddalena, Caprera, Santo Stefano, Spargi, Budelli, Santa Maria and Razzoli), of  various islets and minor rocks. Covered with typical mediterranean scrub plants all these islands, largely uninhabited, are characterized by a succession of coves and fine sandy beaches wet by a marvelous emerald sea.

Another element of the undisputed charm of this archipelago is undoubtedly the granitic nature of its thousand-year-old rocks shaped without stopping by the sea and the wind. For the protection of such an environmental heritage in 1996, the National Park of the Archipelago was established with the aim of preserving the magnificent marine flora and fauna that characterizes it.

During sailing we'll be constantly surrounded by indescribable natural sceneries Who even enchanted Napoleon, Nelson and Garibaldi. Not to miss cala Corsara in the island of Spargi, where a little white sandy beach melts with a crystal clear sea, or the pink beach in Budelli island taking it's name from the characteristic color that takes its sand due to the crumbling of the shells of some marine micen organisms.

Also, Bonifacio is a mandatory stop for those who choose to visit the archipelago; the incredible sight entering the port, which is accessible through a fjord with white rock walls over 70 meters high, leaves everyone breathless...

TECHNICAL DATA

Sun Odyssey 54 DS

The Jeanneau, Sun Odyssey 54 DS (which stands for deck saloon) is an innovative and elegant boat that combines cruising needs with good sailing performance.

At first glance, her long waterline, supple lines, volumes and ample space both inside and out are striking. It is striking how the French yard has managed to combine elegance and comfort with good performance and ease of handling.
In the exterior spaces, the deckhouse, which resembles a long almond-shaped eye and makes the entire profile of the Sun Odyssey 54 DS very supple, is certainly noticeable.

The characteristic deck design is described by many as "Italian", which in terms of style is definitely a compliment. In the tradition of the Jeanneau yard, the cockpit and the entire aft area are designed to be functional and extremely comfortable. The cockpit of the Sun Odyssey 54 DS is divided into three areas: one housing the two helms, one around the folding table for relaxation and entertainment, and one near the entrance below deck for manoeuvring the mainsail and jib trolleys.

At the far end of the stern, the platform is wide and facilitates the descent into the water and onto the dock.
The style and comfort of the deck is matched by the hull's long waterline and solid construction.

The equipment on the Sun Odyssey 54 DS is well thought out for demanding sailing and limited crew. This layout, which is also characteristic of many other boats from the French yard, greatly facilitates the manoeuvrability of the Sun Odyssey 54 DS.
In fact, all sea trials have shown how easy it is for a boat of this size to be manoeuvred by two people, even in strong winds.

Below deck the volumes are large and well exploited. The dinette has the characteristic of being slightly raised compared to the plane of the saloon and the kitchen, allowing you to enjoy the view from the window of the deckhouse.
The large table and sofas are located to starboard, as is the chart table, while to port is the large, super-equipped C-shaped galley and a seat with a small table.
The Sun Odyssey 54 DS offers a very comfortable, stylish and elegant interior.
